Francis Bacon

Bacon was one of the most significant figurative painters of the 20th century, known for his raw, distorted depictions of the human figure that convey isolation and psychological anguish. Born in Dublin, he spent most of his career in London. His chaotic Reece Mews studio is now preserved at the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane.
